We are searching for a Retail Manager for our new store, Southern Tide, opening in Shelter Cove HHI March 2020

Essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:

  • Responsible for purchasing, receiving, storing, pricing and tagging of all soft goods or applicable merchandise
  • Completes detailed receipt inventory of all goods received at the store
    • Immediately resolves any order discrepancies by communicating with the supplier of goods
  • Maintain orderly files and records covering all phases of retail operations from purchase orders to sales receipts
  • Establish discount and Special Order policy
  • Completes store operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees
  • Maintains store staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees along with the help of the Human Resources team
  • Maintains store staff job results by coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results.
  • Supervise shop personnel assigned to his/her budget relating to the merchandise they are accountable for
  • Prepare budget for approval relating to the merchandise they are accountable for
  • Strive to maintain proper inventory levels to achieve budget objectives. This relates to adequate inventory turns based on industry standards.
  • When inventory is received, keep stock rooms neat and orderly with proper stacking and labeling of all boxes.
  • Ensure proper delegation and supervision of all merchandise displays in associated shops
  • Coordinate and handle any movement of transferring goods and inventory from central storage area
  • Stay current with customer needs, trends and fashion with respect to the operation of a successful merchandise program
  • Utilizes the support of the Retail associate during peak times as needed
  • Maintains operations by initiating, coordinating, and enforcing operational and personnel policies
  • Other duties as assigned



  • General knowledge of merchandise and retail trends
  • Demonstrate leadership skills with self-starter tendencies
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Previous knowledge of Micros POS system preferred
  • Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office package preferred
  • Prior knowledge of Open Inventory System preferred
  • Thorough understanding of all phases of retail operations
    • Including purchasing, receiving, pricing, marketing, advertising and display



College level coursework in management, retail management, or other business-related field desired. Minimum high school graduate.
